Patron Saint's Day - Veysonnaz

Tradition & markets

In the Valais, each village is protected by a "Patron Saint" who is celebrated with dignity by the parishioners. In Veysonnaz, Saint Mary Help of Christians is thus honoured every year at the end of May during a spring Sunday placed under the sign of gathering and exchange.

Thursday10:00 - 13:00

The patronal feast begins with a religious service in the village church, during which all the jubilee couples are also celebrated.
An aperitif is offered to the population at the end of the ceremony and various activities are proposed.
In order to perpetuate Veysonnaz as a flowery and colorful village, a prize is awarded to those who decorated their balcony during the previous summer and who have obtained a sufficient number of points.
There reigns a friendly and relaxed atmosphere throughout the day.

All events will take place subject to the evolution of the virus and in compliance with health measures.
