Valais Drink Pure Alphorn Festival

Experience this big gathering of Alphorns, with near 200 players present in Nendaz.
The next edition of the Valais Drink Pure Festival will be from 26th to 28nd of July 2019.

An official competition

The alphorn blowers are spread over several categories. The jury of experts judges blind. This type of competition is unique in Switzerland. Every year the participation grows bigger and bigger with musicians not only coming from all over Switzerland, but also from France, Germany, Belgium and even the USA.

A popular festival

When you participate in the Valais Drink Pure Festival, you are immersed in a world of folklore and traditions. Not only does the spectator discover this ancient instrument called the alphorn through the official competition and through the morceaux d'ensemble, but also through numerous other activities that are proposed throughout the festival : grand traditional parade, performances by folk groups and country dance in the evening.

Authenticity is in fashion

The alphorn follows in the spirit of Nendaz, which lies on authenticity, local products and tradition. Nendaz proposes a wide choice of activities based on this instrument : group and quartet, alphorn making demonstrations, introduction courses and lessons, and of course the Valais Drink Pure Festival! The alphorn intrigues, fascinates and captivates, even the younger generations. We see this every year with the success encountered by the festival and other activities linked with the alphorn!
